2009 - April Event

It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon when nineteen Vancouver Belles gathered at the CT Cafe for the "April Flowers Afternoon Tea" presented by Jennifer. Our hostesses were Judy Thompson, Betsy Rogers and Donna Mickles. They presented each guest with an imaginative flower pot filled with cheery flower pen, kisses, and flower seeds. The lovely tables greeted the ladies with tea servers displaying lucious desserts --- a hint of what was to come. The Belles' pallettes were tempted first with tasty sandwiches, petite quiche lorraine, and savory bit sized vegetable tarts. Many could not ignore the desserts while awaiting the arrival of their scone! In addition to a chocolate tart with cream cheese frosting and a delectable pastry tart filled with lemon glazed mango, lace cones held selections of tea cookies including a lemon madeline. The final offering was an orange-cranberry scone of gigantic proportions; lemon curd and mixed berry preserves were passed to spread on the scone. Each lady enjoyed her own choice of tea in an individual pot. As usual, the enjoyment of sisterhood that comes with being a Vancouver Belle was the feather atop our red and pink hats!
